MELISSA GARCIA WEBB, MSW, LICSW

I became a therapist for the connection; I'm genuinely curious about people, the world, ideas and beliefs. In our sessions I can offer you safety and a place to rest your struggles, even if just for an hour.  I include several models of therapy to meet your specific needs and personality. Some that I frequently use are: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution Focused therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness and Internal Family Systems and trauma-informed approaches. Regardless of the techniques, I approach therapy as a conversation. You can expect a therapist who uses humor, encouragement and empathy in our work together. I enjoy working with people who desire to make changes, heal wounds or overcome challenges. Currently, my focus is on trauma, ADHD, women's issues and life stressors. I also have years of experience working with depression, anxiety and mood disorders.

I have lived in West Virginia my whole life and these hills are home! I love the smell of damp woods and the sounds of the creek. I do not love the sounds of coyotes howling at night. Spring is my favorite time of year for the daffodils, ramps and the start of gardening. My cat, Squishy, is quite the helper in the garden.

On a more serious note,  I received my Master's in Social Work in 2015 from West Virginia University and am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in the state of WV. For the past 10 years I have practiced as a mental health therapist, providing trauma-informed care to individuals. I am currently accepting adult clients and would love to work with you.
